Johnson, in his first full season as head coach, elevated the young Spurs roster led by rising star Victor Wembanyama into one of the league’s top win producers.
Mazzulla kept the defending champion Celtics among the Eastern Conference elite despite major injuries, most notably Jayson Tatum’s extended absence, showcasing tactical adaptability and depth management.
The Coach of the Year award, first presented in 1962-63, recognizes the head coach who has made the most positive impact on their team’s performance. Past winners include legends like Red Auerbach and Gregg Popovich.
