Lakers Can Bring a Former Member Back to the Squad
Subsequently, the Lakers can make a move to bring Kentavious Caldwell-Pope - Currently with the Orlando Magic - back to LA. KCP has had a mixed season till now. His defense has been solid but three-point shooting conversion has seen a huge plummet, which could see him depart from the franchise. Should it happen then the Lakers can take the gain from it.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope's playoff experience and championship wins with the Lakers (2020) and Nuggets (2023) make him an interesting signing for Orlando. However, Michael Saenz questioned the team's decision to bring him on board, likely due to his fit or role within the team.
"Would it be that controversial to say the Orlando Magic made a mistake in signing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope last offseason? With how inconsistent he's been so far this season, I don't think that's unfair."

Additionally, having previously played alongside LeBron James, Caldwell-Pope knows how to thrive in a complementary role, making him a strong fit for the Lakers.

Who Could be Traded Away?
The Los Angeles Lakers could consider trading Rui Hachimura to Orlando Magic in exchange for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. This makes sense as Hachimura's scoring versatility would fit well with the Magic's needs, while the Lakers could use the cap space freed up by moving Hachimura's contract to accommodate Caldwell-Pope's $66 million deal.
