The major slip-up which saw the Lakers losing four matches in a row following LeBron James' injury, has intensified the doubts that the franchise indeed requires more firepower in the front. As James picked up a groin injury, the onus of scoring shifted to star new buy Luka Doncic and reliable forward Austin Reaves. Thus, reflecting on the damage sustained, the Lakers' search for a capable presence in the frontcourt has reached James' former team, Charlotte Hornets.

Lakers Looking to Re-Unite LeBron James with Miles Bridges
The Los Angeles Lakers are apparently looking into a daring move to bolster their squad, potentially pairing LeBron James with Charlotte Hornets' $75 million-star big Miles Bridges. This comes amid persistent troubles following James' recent groin injury, which has left the team looking for scoring options beyond Luke Doncic and Austin Reaves.
According to recent reports, Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka is open to resume trade talks with the Hornets, this time focusing on Miles Bridges instead of Mark Williams. The proposed deal could involve rookie forward Dalton Knecht, along with other assets like Jarred Vanderbilt or Gabe Vincent, and draft capital.
"The team has already shown a willingness to trade Williams, as evidenced by the rescinded trade with the Los Angeles Lakers that would have brought in Knecht and first-round picks," Bleacher Report's Eric Pincus noted. "The goal may be to continue down that path with youth and draft compensation the goal."
Bridges, 26, has emerged as a prolific scorer for the struggling Hornets, averaging 21.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 3.9 assists this season. His agility and ability to finish near the rim make him an intriguing option for the Lakers' to consider and potentially sign. Moreover, his high-flying ability to strike dunks and improved three-point shooting (41.3% from the corner), could improve the prospects for LeBron James and Luka Doncic.
