After enduring a disappointing end to the season, the Los Angeles Lakers are expected to make modifications to the squad in the offseason. Considering they badly missed the presence of a Center following the departure of Anthony Davis, it is certain that they will make a new signing this summer. The situation has given rise to a plethora of assertions and hence trade rumors are circling around on the digital medium. In the process, let's take a look at a new entry to the mix.
LA Lakers Can Pursue Mavericks' Star Center
As per reports, the LA Lakers can pursue the Dallas Mavericks' Center, who has previously worked with Luka Doncic.
In a column called "Every NBA Team's Toughest Upcoming Financial Decision," Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report projected the Lakers to try to trade for Mavericks center Daniel Gafford, although the NBA analyst doesn't believe a deal will happen.
"Look for the Lakers to try to get someone like Daniel Gafford from the Dallas Mavericks, who may be unlikely to trade with L.A. in the near future given the fallout from the Doncic deal," Pincus wrote.

Doncic and Gafford Had Incredible Tuning
Doncic and Gafford played a total of 48 games together for Dallas. The two showcased brilliant chemistry on the court, particularly on lob plays.
Doncic averaged 30.6 points, 9.2 rebounds and 9.2 assists with Gafford, while Gafford averaged 11.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks with Doncic.
The 26-year-old Gafford will make $14.4 million next season in the final year of his contract. He averaged 12.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks for the Mavericks this season while shooting 70.2% from the field.
As the LA Lakers look to fill the void of a Center, Daniel Gafford can come as a worthy contender to take the spot. However, only time will tell who the Lakers will zero in on.
