Inspired by the NCAA’s March Madness, O’Neal launched the Whozfire Music Festival, a unique bracket-style music competition where independent artists compete in head-to-head song battles. The winner not only receives a $30,000 cash prize but also secures a distribution deal with hip-hop icon Jim Jones, making it a transformative opportunity for aspiring musicians.
One of the standout competitors in this year’s competition was Red Lotus. His soulful music and compelling lyrics captivated O’Neal, earning him praise from the 15-time NBA All-Star. Unfortunately, despite his impressive showing, Red Lotus fell short of claiming the top prize.

Even though Red Lotus didn’t secure the victory, Shaq’s admiration for his artistry didn’t waver. Recognizing his potential, O’Neal personally gifted him $15,000 to fund a music video.
As reported by Hotfreestyle, “SHAQ heard a song by rising artist Red Lotus and was so impressed that he gifted him a $15,000 music video shoot.”
This heartfelt gesture left Red Lotus in awe. Under Hotfreestyle’s post, the aspiring artist expressed his disbelief with a simple yet powerful comment: “PINCH ME.”
Red Lotus’ Emotional Thank You to Shaq
In response to O’Neal’s generosity, Red Lotus shared a heartfelt message of gratitude. “This is grateful. Appreciative is not strong enough of a word for what I have for you. Shaquille O’Neal, you’re the reason I’m here in Atlanta right now. From the bottom of my heart, me and all my ancestors thank you for what you did for me and what you’re doing for us. Just want to say thank you. And I know I don’t know you very well, but I love you. And I wish you nothing but prosperity. And thank you for believing in me,” he said during a special appreciation video.
Lotus also reiterated his gratitude during his video shoot, saying, “Thank you so, so much. I really appreciate you, man. This is a dream come true.”
