Travis Kelce has been surrounded by a possible retirement rumor, and a former Super Bowl winner has offered some words for the Kansas City Chiefs’ star. Kelce might be going through a difficult season as the Chiefs couldn't make it to the playoffs; however, the tight end is also planning a lavish life with fiancee and pop star Taylor Swift.
As the player stands at a crossroads, pondering his future, a possible retirement continues to swirl around Kelce. Amid all this, a former player has provided words of wisdom for the Chiefs star.
Travis Kelce gets advice from Patriots legend amid retirement rumors
Rob Gronkowski has shared some retirement advice for Kelce and reflected on his experience of being in the same shoes. The former New England Patriots star wants Kelce to listen to his gut amid all the noise.
Gronkowski, during his appearance on Good Morning America, warned the tight end to listen to his “gut feeling” before making anything official. He advised;
"The only advice that I would give him, because I've been in this situation before, is listen to your gut feeling.”
Gronkowski, who is known as one of the greatest tight ends of all time, further said:
“If you truly love the game of football and you feel like you belong out there on the football field, well then, go back.”
The American football legend continued:
“Look at your options, see what’s presented to you on the table, and weigh it all out and take your time.”
Gronkowski also stated that Kelce should only return to football if he truly believes and feels that he belongs on the field. Further, the four-time Super Bowl champion added that if Kelce doesn't feel like his heart is in football, he “got a lot of opportunities.”
Gronkowski believes that Kelce would be “successful” in anything he does in the future. The former player was not with his decision to hang up his helmet in 2019 before Tom Brady made him make a U-turn and join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in April 2020.
