One of the main talking points of the offseason is what would be Giannis Antetokounmpo's next destination in the upcoming season if he happens to leave his current team, Milwaukee Bucks. Bucks have been eliminated thrice now in the first round of the playoffs and there are rumors that Antetokounmpo might be looking for a change. His current contract with Bucks is until 2026-27 season, but speculations around his future is uncertain.

What did Doc Rivers say about his relationship with Giannis Antetokounmpo?

On Thursday, TMZ tried speaking to Doc Rivers about Giannis Antetokounmpo's future with the team. The former Atlanta Hawks point guard didn't provide with any answers and said,

Guys, I'm not doing all that. I talk to him all the time. You can move on now, thank you.

Not just this, even the Greek Freak has kept quiet about his trade rumors. He even had an Q&A session with the fans on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Sunday. During the Q&A session, Antetokounmpo didn't answer anything which involved talks about his future with Milwaukee Bucks.

A week ago, Chris Haynes reported that both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee Bucks will be having a 'crucial meeting'. It would then further help him to decide about his future but Haynes has still not given an update on the meeting.

NBA insider thinks Giannis Antetokounmpo will ask Milwaukee Bucks for a trade

According to Bleacher Report's Eric Pincus, he feels that Giannis Antetokounmpo might ask Milwaukee Bucks for a trade in the offseason.

Several agents polled at the recent NBA combine in Chicago believe the former NBA MVP will direct the Bucks to send him to his preferred location, whatever that might be. The closer he gets to the end of his contract, the greater his power to dissuade other suitors.

Last year, Antetokounmpo had signed a three-year extension worth a whopping $175.3 million. The contract will start from next season, when he will get $54.1 million and $58.4 million after that. Going into the 2027-28 season, Giannis would have $62.7 million player option.

If Giannis really asks for a trade from the Bucks, then Pincus feels that San Antonio Spurs is the team which will go for him as they have the power to match the salaries. The entry of Giannis in the Spurs setup would further help the team make a deadly duo with star player Victor Wembanyama which will eventually come handy in the future.
