India to face Bangladesh in Asia Cup on September 24

Legendary India cricketer Sourav Ganguly is confident that the current Indian team can bring home the coveted Asia Cup title. The Suryakumar Yadav-led team is yet to record a defeat in the tournament and has so far won all four of their matches. Moreover, they have defeated Pakistan twice in the ongoing edition of the competition. Ganguly lauded the Indian team for coming out victorious over their arch-rivals and added that there is a good chance for them to win the Asia Cup.

“India is a very good team. We defeated Pakistan easily in the Super 4s match. We have a good chance to win (Asia Cup). I hope we will play well," Ganguly was quoted as saying to ANI.

Coming to the match, India won the toss and elected to bowl first. Though this looked to be a good decision, the Pakistan batters ended up dominating in the first 10 overs. Sahibzada Farhan was the star of the show for the Men in Green and played a valiant knock of 58. They managed to finish their innings on a high thanks to Faheem Ashraf, whose unbeaten cameo of 20 runs from 8 deliveries saw the side end their 20 overs at a total of 171/5.

Then, India came out to bat and were provided with an incredibly strong start thanks to the opening duo of Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill. They formed a massive partnership of 105 runs, making the equation easy for the Men in Blue and taking the match away from Pakistan. Gill would eventually depart for 47 while Abhishek would get dismissed for 74, however India wouldn't face many problems thanks to Tilak Varma's valiant cameo 30.

India to face Bangladesh next

Suryakumar Yadav & Co. would eventually reach the target with seven deliveries left to spare as India continued their unbeaten run and handed Pakistan their first defeat of the Super 4 stage. With this victory, they once again showed why they are being termed as the favourites to win the Asia Cup. They will now be facing Bangladesh in their next match which is set to be contested on September 24. On the other hand, Pakistan will be hoping to bounce back from the defeat in their next match of the tournament which will be against Sri Lanka and will be held on September 23.
