With India on the verge of closing in on a second consecutive victory over Pakistan, young pacer Arshdeep Singh was tasked with catching a loose shot off Asif Ali's batting. It was off Ravi Bishnoi's bowling and would have turned the topsy-turvy match in India's favour, but Arshdeep was unable to judge the flight as the ball slipped out of his hand and gave Asif a lifeline, which he used to win his team the all-important Super 4s game of the 2022 Asia Cup, currently taking place in Dubai.
Following the fielding debacle, trolls from Pakistan began emerging as India lost a grip on the game. Arshdeep was then tasked with defending seven runs in the last over for the win, but the Punjab Kings (PBKS) pacer was unable to hold on as the Pakistani batters sealed the win in the penultimate over of the game.
Hatred against the bowler reached a tipping point after Arshdeep's Wikipedia page was edited to show that the player was now representing ‘Khalistan’. Please find below the tweet with Arshdeep's page edited. These edits have since been removed from his page.
The edited page said that Arshdeep was a member of the 'Khalistan' squad for the 2018 U-19 World Cup, and was also in the 'Khalistan' squad for the Asia Cup. Since then, reports suggest that the IT ministry has issued summons to Wikipedia officials in India, asking them for an explanation on how the bowler's Wikipedia page was changed to reflect an association with 'Khalistan'.

Some people also caught the reactions of the players after the match-defining drop, using these to troll the youngster.
But it was sad to see some of the Indian fans joining in the trolling of Arshdeep. Here are some of these tweets.
Despite these trolls, support for the pacer was plenty in supply. Many former cricketers joined to praise Arshdeep for his bowling, especially in the final over and for giving him confidence after the missed catch.
