In a commendable display of skill, Shanto's team set a challenging target of 332 runs for the Kiwi side. Despite the efforts of Tim Southee's team, they fell short and were bowled out for 181 runs in the first session on the 5th day of the match. However, Bangladesh mounted a strong comeback in their second innings, amassing 338 runs, propelled by Shanto's century and significant contributions from Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehdi Hasan Miraj, setting the challenging target for New Zealand.
On Day 4, Bangladesh exhibited a remarkable batting display, guided by their captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, who celebrated his captaincy debut with a splendid century. The seasoned Mushfiqur Rahim and the determined Mehidy Hasan also played crucial roles, contributing valuable half-centuries and lifting Bangladesh to a commanding second-innings total of 338.

The Bangladeshi bowling attack dismissed the Kiwi team for 181 runs in the fourth innings.
