Rohit Sharma was seen absolutely infuriated as Kuldeep Yadav was at the receiving end of it during the third ODI between India and Australia in Chennai on Wednesday (March 22). Rohit lost his cool when the ace spinner persuaded the Indian skipper to take a review during Australia's batting which eventually was turned down by the on-field umpire Nitin Menon who adjudged the call wrong.
There have been instances in the past where Rohit has been seen animated and aggressive in the cricket field but with the intensity he snapped at Kuldeep at Chepauk was a rare sight. Sharma rebuked Kuldeep for wasting a crucial review. It all happened on the final ball of the 39th overs when Australia's Ashton Agar tried to defend a ball on the front foot but ended up missing the delivery resulting in no contact between the bat and ball. Kuldeep shouted for an appeal with utter conviction. However upon seeing umpire's reluctance in raising the finger Kuldeep forced Rohit to challenge Nitin Menon's call.
Rohit fell for the spinner's constant insistence. The umpire referred it and eventually the decision came in Agar's favour because the impact of the ball hitting the batter’s pad was outside the off-stump. Agar survived and Rohit lost his temper and came down heavily on Kuldeep and was seen scolding him brutally.
In no time the video started floating on Twitter.

However, Kuldeep went on to snare 3/56 in which he dismissed David Warner (23), Marnus Labuschagne (28) and Alex Carey (31).
Talking about the match, Austalia were bundled out for 269 while batting first after winning the toss. Australia got off to a good start as Travis Head (33) and Mitchell Marsh (47) stitched together an opening stand of 68 runs in 10.5 overs. However, the duo soon returned to pavilion and wickets kept on tumbling and visitors managed to post 269 on the board for India. Beside Kuldeep, Hardik Pandya too chipped with an impressive three-fer in which he dismissed Head, Mitchell Marsh and Steve Smith.
