After KS Bharat and KL Rahul's not so impressive run in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series, many speculated that Rohit Sharma might pick Ishan Kishan for the fourth Test against Australia which went underway at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday (March 9). But it was Bharat who was considered for the all-important clash against Australia.

Riding on Usman Khawaja's brilliant century Australia managed to end Day 1's play with 255/4 on the board. On the other hand, India had a long day in the field who were made to toil hard of every wicket. Meanwhile, amid the cracking contest between India and Australia, Kishan and Rohit shared a moment on the field which left everyone in splits. The wicket-keeper batter was assigned as the water boy for Team India on Day 1. During the second session he walked into the field to give drinks to Rohit's brigade. While rushing back to the pavilion, he dropped one of the water bottles on the pitch. While returning to pick up the bottle, Rohit funnily threatened to slap him in an action but Kishan managed to dodge him and ran away from the pitch immediately. The video in no time went viral on social media where the fans munched big time on the hilarious session between the duo.

Meanwhile, Khawaja combined patience with grit to raise his 14th Test hundred that guided Australia to a comfortable 255/4 as of Day 1 to ensure visitors were in the driver's seat. While Khawaja and Green headlined the batting heroics for Australia, Mohammed Shami, who returned to the playing eleven after being rested in the third Test, and Ravindra Jadeja were the pick of the bowlers for the hosts with figures of 2/65 and 1/49 respectively.

Meanwhile, Australia kicked off the Day 2's play in style as they raced to 301/4 as of 108 overs with Khawaja and Green still intact on crease after scoring 133 and 66 respectively to threaten India's chances in World Test Championship final.

Meanwhile, Australia have already fixed their berth in WTC 2021-2023 final after winning the third Test against India. Now, India need to win the fourth Test to confirm their place in the WTC final which will be held at the Oval in June.
