Suryakumar Yadav, known for his ability to smash the ball in every direction while playing for club and country, has now reached the gullies of Mumbai and smashed the tennis ball with his special 'Supla' shot.
The white-ball specialist, who recently made his Test debut for India during the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, is more famously known as 'Mr. 360' for his ability to hit the ball across all areas of the park much like former stars like AB de Villiers.
The video, which was shared by the Mumbai Indians' (MI) Instagram account, can see the Indian cricketer hit the shot with perfection, much like most of the times he has done it while playing for India and his Indian Premier League (IPL) team. The photo was captioned, "The iconic…. 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐥𝐚 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐭 ft. सूर्या दादा (Surya Dada)."
The video was also shared on his own Instagram handle, where the star cricketer wrote, "Bhai log ki demand. Supla Shot (Supla Shot, on demand from my brothers)."
In addition to his first Test for India, Surya has played 20 ODIs and 48 T20I matches for the country. He made his T20I debut against England in 2021 after a strong domestic run, especially in the IPL. In 2022, Surya added a new record to his name when he became the first Indian batter and second overall in the world to score more than 1000 runs in a calendar year in T20Is.
He played in a total of 31 T20Is in 2022 and scored 1164 runs. He was also the World No. 1 batter in T20Is for a brief period.
Meanwhile, he will hope to retain his place in the Playing XI for the all-important fourth Test against Ahmedabad, which starts on March 9.
