India's pace-bowling spearhead in the T20I series against Bangladesh, left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh has been rewarded for an economical three-wicket haul in Gwalior. Arshdeep jumped eight places to occupy the ninth spot in ICC's latest T2OI rankings for bowlers.
As Arshdeep went up, Sri Lanka's Maheesh Theekshana, Australia's Josh Hazlewood and India's Ravi Bishnoi slipped one place each. Off-spinner Washington Sundar who bagged one wicket and conceded 12 runs from two overs climbed four places to 35th. Axar Patel who is not part of the T20I series against Bangladesh slipped three places to 15th.
Bangladesh's left-arm pacer went down one place to 16th after conceding 36 runs from three overs and claiming India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav's wicket. Also, Taskin Ahmed who conceded 44 runs from 2.5 overs lost seven places and has occupied the 30th spot. The top spot belongs to England leg-spinner Adil Rashid.
Hardik rises
In the first T20I, Hardik Pandya claimed one wicket and conceded 26 runs from his quota of four overs. Then, in the run chase, he scored 39 runs from 16 balls including five fours and two sixes. He helped India chase down the target of 128 with 8.1 overs to spare. He went up four places and occupied the third spot. His rise led to Australia's Marcus Stoinis, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza, Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga and Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi slipped one place each. The top spot belongs to England's Liam Livingstone with 253 rating points followed by Nepal's Dipendra Singh Airee (235 points).
One change in top 10 batter rankings
There's only one change in the top 10 batter rankings. Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal who has been rested for the T20I series ahead of the three-Test series against New Zealand slipped from fourth to fifth position. As a result, former Pakistan captain Babar Azam took his place. Travis Head leads the chart. Apart from Jaiswal, two other Indian batters in top 10 are Suryakumar Yadav (2nd) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (9th).
