Rishabh Pant made his remarkable comeback in Test cricket with an astonishing performance in the first Test against Bangladesh which was held at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai, on September 22 (Sunday). He made his much-awaited return to the red-ball format after over 20 months. He scored a crucial 39 off 52 balls in the first innings when India were reeling at 34/3 and revived the Indian innings alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal and then scored a magnificent ton of 109 (128) in the second innings to register his sixth Test hundred, which also played an important role in India's 280-run win in the opening Test. After the stunning victory, Rishabh Pant revealed an epic and hilarious message from captain Rohit Sharma on Day 3.
Pant reveals Rohit's message
The star wicket-keeper batter revealed Rohit Sharma's message during lunch break on Day 3. The Indian captain told them to score whatever runs they wanted as they would only bat for one more hour. Both Pant and Gill were nearing their respective tons, so they decided to shift gears and quickly reach the milestone before the captain decided to declare the innings.

To mereko ek mindset aaya ki yaar thoda jaldi run bana leta hu kya pata 150 bn jae (When we went for lunch, we were discussing about declaring the match. Rohit Bhai said that we will see how long we play for. We will see how many runs we can make. So I got a mindset that I will make it fast. I don't know, maybe 150 runs),” Rishabh Pant revealed while talking to the broadcasters after the match.
India stole the show with their dominant performance against Bangladesh. They stopped a side that was coming here after a historic 2-0 clean sweep over Pakistan. India batting first put 376 runs on the scoreboard with the help of an astonishing hundred from Ashwin and half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravindra Jadeja. Then Indian bowling line-up led by Jasprit Bumrah took over and bowled out the visitors on a paltry score of 149 and gave India a massive first-innings lead which was turned massive by centuries from Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill in the third innings. Then Ashwin once again stole the limelight with a match-winning six-fer and helped India win the match by 280 runs.
