In the second T20 International in Delhi, India defeated Bangladesh with a remarkable all-around performance from young Nitish Kumar Reddy and a fifty-run knock from Rinku Singh. The Men in Blue sealed the three-match series with an unbeatable 2-0 lead on Wednesday. World champion India amassed a massive 221/9 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. They then came back to limit Bangladesh to a meager 135/9, winning by 86 runs.

Rinku Singh mentions MS Dhoni

After the match, Rinku Singh namedropped the legendary MS Dhoni and revealed that he had talked with MS Dhoni regarding batting in tough positions and the thought process in those situations. He also praised Nitish Kumar Reddy for his astonishing performance in the match against Bangladesh.

"I keep telling myself to remain calm in tough situations. It comes naturally to me as I have been playing at this position for a long time. I practise accordingly as well. I have talked a lot regarding this with Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) which has helped. When you lose 3-4 wickets, you need to have self belief. (Partnership with Nitish Kumar) We just wanted to build a partnership as the wicket was slightly slow, rotate strike and punish the bad balls. The momentum swung after that free-hit (off Mahmudullah) and Nitish gained a lot of confidence," said Rinku Singh after the match.

India beat Bangladesh by 86 runs

In the second T20 International against Bangladesh on Wednesday, Rinku Singh struck a scorching half-century to help India set a formidable total of 221/9. Nitish Reddy also played the most thrilling innings of his young career. The highlight of the Indian innings was Reddy's stunning knock of 74 off just 34 balls, which included four boundaries and seven towering sixes. After an early top-order collapse, the 21-year-old and Rinku Singh (53 off 29) shared a vital 108-run partnership for the fourth wicket, saving India from certain defeat.

India's bowlers soon grabbed control of the chase, even though Bangladesh got off to a fast start with opener Parvez Hossain Emon hitting three boundaries in the opening over. After giving up early boundaries, Arshdeep Singh had the last laugh as he got rid of Emon in his subsequent over. Bangladesh's pursuit was totally halted when Washington Sundar and Varun Chakaravarthy, two of India's spinners, were introduced.

Bangladesh lost 3 wickets for 6 runs in 14 balls as wickets went at regular intervals. Veteran Mahmudullah waged a lone battle with 41 off 39 balls, while captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Litton Das carried on with their difficulties. But since Bangladesh's batters could not keep up, the needed run rate increased, and they ended up scoring just 135/9 in their 20 overs.
