Joseph's reaction to the warning was deemed inappropriate, as he was seen arguing with the umpire. As a result, he was fined 25 per cent of his match fee for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct.

According to the ICC Code of Conduct, Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand and a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player's match fee. Moreover, players who commit Level 1 breaches can accumulate demerit points, with a maximum of two points per offense.

Not just this, Alzarri was also awarded one demerit point. This is his second offense within a 24-month period, with the first occurring during the ODI series against England. Joseph accepted the penalty and admitted to the breach of the ICC Code of Conduct.

After restricting Bangladesh to 294 runs, the West Indies chased down the target in 48 overs, with a century from Sherfane Rutherford playing a crucial role. Alzarri Joseph contributed to the West Indies' win by two wickets for 67 runs. The second match between West Indies and Bangladesh was scheduled to be played on December 10.
