Kieron Pollard is counted amongst the best fielders in the cricketing world and known for his acrobatic fielding beside his carnage-filled batting. He is making news for the same attribute yet again. He may have retired from International cricket but the cricket worm in him hasn't died yet.

He is participating in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League and while playing for Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in the match against St. Lucia Kings on Thursday (September 1), Pollard took a screamer of a catch while fielding which left the cricket fans awestruck.

Pollard managed to pull off an acrobatic fielding effort at the boundary, first denying Alzarri Joseph a six off Jaydon Seales before catching the ball before it hit the ground in a single, swift move. The veteran cricketer used his tall frame to get a hand on the ball and immediately lifted it over so that he did not lose balance. Showing his incredible athleticism, Pollard recovered in time to catch the ball before it landed.

The video of Pollard's incredible catch has gone viral on social media with cricket fans stunned at how Pollard was able to complete the catch. The ex-West Indies skipper's effort helped his side make a winning start to the competition with a narrow three-wicket win.

TKR had restricted the Kings to a score of 143/9, with spinner Akeal Hossain returning figures of 4/13. The chase turned out to be far more difficult than they hoped though. Pacer Joseph almost matched Hossain with figures of 4/17 and TKR in the end won the match by three wickets with just four balls to spare.

This was the second match on the opening day of the 2022 CPL. Earlier, The Jamaica Tallawahs beat St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by a whopping 47 runs. Brandon King smashed 89 off 57 balls after which captain Rovman Powell scored an unbeaten 30 off 15 balls. Nicholson Gordon then took three wickets as the Patriots were restricted to a score of 136/8.
