India will lock horns against Australia for their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semifinal clash which is scheduled to take place on March 4 at the iconic Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. Cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar advised Rohit Sharma-led India to go for a chase against Australia.
He explained that Australia will be lacking in their spin department and they are also featuring in the tournament without their key players. Australia's premier pacers Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood have been ruled out of the tournament due to either injuries or personal reasons.

“On this surface, yes, because Australia don't seem to have the kind of spinning attack, apart from the fact that they are missing out on key players like Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc, their batting is good. The batting is very aggressive. The ideal thing would be for India maybe to chase, rather than having Australia chase," Gavaskar said to India Today.
India and Australia group stage performance
Team India faced Bangladesh, Pakistan and New Zealand in their group stage clash where the Men in Blue defeated all the teams to seal their semifinal berth.
Australia faced England, South Africa and Afghanistan in their three group stage matches, where the Steve Smith-led side defeated England in their opener clash and their last two clashes against South Africa and Afghanistan were washed out due to rain
