Gambhir apparently posted a promotional advertisement for a fantasy cricket app, which didn't sit well with the fans. Gambhir's timing of the post was questioned by fans. Right after the incident the netizens started bashing India's head coach for the post which came ahead of the crucial India versus New Zealand Champions Trophy final clash, which is being held at the Dubai International stadium on March 9, Sunday.

"Kya RO-KO ki jodi Bharat🇮🇳 ko ek aur Champions ODI trophy jeeta paayegi?🤔 Real11 par Trade karo. Aise hi aur sawalo ke jawab Yes✅/❌No mein do aur dheero inaam jeeto!," Gambhir's post read.
One of the X (previously known as Twitter) users, reminded Gambhir of his national duty and said he shouldn't be doin this before the match being the head coach of Indian team.
"Being a coach of Indian team you shouldn’t be doing this before the match. You can do the marketing of the gambling app some other day! No?," the user commented.

Talking about the match, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first against India in the Champions Trophy final. Batting first New Zealand rode on Daryl Mitchell's brilliant half century to post 251/7 on the board. Meanwhile, Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav remained India's pick of the bowlers with two wickets each.
