The unveiling was a star-studded affair. Sachin, accompanied by his wife Anjali and daughter Sara, graced the event. The ceremony was further elevated by the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, and other prominent personalities.

Reflecting on the monumental honor, Sachin expressed his emotions, “Truly humbled when I stand here… it's truly God's gift to walk on the turf which has given me everything in life. My first visit to Wankhede was in 1983 as a 10-year-old when the West Indies had come here. Took a train from Bandra to Churchgate and sat in the North Stand, the iconic North Stand. Even though we were 25 with only 24 tickets, we managed to get in. Being vertically challenged helped".

Tendulkar's records at Wankhede further amplify the appropriateness of this tribute. He has amassed 921 runs in 11 Tests at an impressive average of 48.47. Meanwhile, in 11 ODIs at this venue, he crafted 455 runs with an average of 41.36. The statue not only pays homage to Sachin Tendulkar's monumental contributions to cricket but also serves as an inspiration for budding cricketers. It reminds them of the heights one can achieve with dedication, hard work, and an unyielding passion for the game.
