Pakistan vice-captain and star all-rounder, Shadab Khan shared heart-wrenching news of a young fan named 'Zainab' passing away just ahead of the ODI World Cup match between India and Pakistan. Shadab took to X, formerly Twitter, and tried to put his emotions into words, while also highlighting the impression she left on him.

"Deeply saddened about Zainab passing away. I can’t explain in words the impression she left on me. My prayers with her. May her soul rest in peace," Shadab wrote on X.

Meanwhile, the stage is set for the greatest rivalry in cricket to reignite as less than 24 hours remain before the largest cricket stadium in the world - Narendra Modi Stadium - hosts the most anticipated game of the ongoing quadrennial competition. Both teams have enjoyed a hot start to their campaigns, winning two matches each.
India began their campaign by defeating Australia in Chennai and then backed it up with a solid performance against Afghanistan in Delhi.
Pakistan are off to a fabulous start as well. After defeating the Netherlands in their campaign opener, the Men in Green scripted history against Sri Lanka in Hyderabad to make it two wins in as many matches played. Babar Azam's team pulled off the highest successful run chase in ODI World Cup history against the Islanders.
It is important to note that India are undefeated against their arch-rivals Pakistan in ODI World Cup. The Men in Blue are gunning for their eighth win against the Men in Green while Pakistan are still hoping to open their account against India in World Cup.
The Indian team has showcased splendid form, while the bowling weaknesses of the Pakistan team have been exposed. India is coming off a triumphant Asia Cup campaign, whereas Pakistan faced a crushing defeat in the same tournament. With this backdrop, it will be interesting to see which team emerges superior in front of over 1,00,000 fans.
