After Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also announced his T20I retirement after India's T20 World Cup 2024 triumph. India defeated South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling T20 World Cup 2024 final on June 29. Kohli was the first to call it quits to the T20I Internationals after India won the T20 World Cup 2024 title.

Captain Rohit Sharma followed him and announced his retirement from the shortest format and then Jadeja capped it off in the following day and drew curtains on his T20I career. Despite a dip in form in the T20 World Cup 2024, Ravindra Jadeja, a legendary all-rounder who spearheaded India's dominance across formats in the past decade, has decided to step away from T20I cricket at the age of 36.

 

“With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals. Like a steadfast horse galloping with pride, I’ve always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats . Winning the T20 World Cup was a dream come true, a pinnacle of my T20 International career. Thank you for the memories, the cheers, and the unwavering support. Jai hind. Ravindrasinh Jadeja,” Jadeja's Instagram post read.

Ravindra Jadeja burst onto the T20I scene in 2009, making his debut in a one-off match against Sri Lanka and then going on to play in the T20 World Cup that same year. Jadeja featured in 74 matches, scoring 515 runs and taking 54 wickets for India in T20Is. He played a crucial role in six T20 World Cup campaigns, achieving victory in his final appearance as India secured the men's T20 World Cup trophy after a 17-year wait. Jadeja also confirmed that he would continue to represent India in other formats.
