Bangladesh pick injured Taskin Ahmed over Shakib Al Hasan
Taskin Ahmed has been appointed as the Bangladesh vice-captain for the mega tournament despite being injured. He suffered a side strain during the recently concluded series against Zimbabwe and is currently receiving treatment for the next couple of weeks to recover and get fit ahead of the tournament.
The veteran all-rounder has been named in the squad but has not been given the role of captain or vice-captain. He led the side in the ODI World Cup 2023 but won't be having that role here. However, his experience will help a lot as he has played each and every T20 World Cup since the inaugural one in 2007.
