BCCI have revealed the India A squad for the one-day series against Australia A

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli won't be featuring in the three-match series

BCCI has announced the India A squad for the one-day series against Australia A which is slated to kick off from September 30.  Despite widespread speculation, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have not been named in the India A squad. The team is set to play a three-match one-day series against Australia, beginning on September 30 at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

No RO-KO in India A's squad for Australia A One-Day series

The India 'A' team for the first match against Australia will be captained by Rajat Patidar and will consist of 13 players. Due to the tight schedule following the Asia Cup final on September 28, four players from that squad—Tilak Varma, Abhishek Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, and Harshit Rana—will be absent from the first game.

For the final two matches, Tilak Varma will take over as captain when the four players join the team. Additionally, Simranjeet Singh and Priyansh Arya will be part of the squad for the first game but will not be included for the remainder of the series.

After leading Royal Challengers Bangalore to the IPL 2025 title, Rajat Patidar is back on the national radar with his prolific scoring in the Duleep Trophy. Captaining Central Zone, Patidar has notched four consecutive fifty-plus scores, including two centuries. In the final against South Zone in Bengaluru, he scored 101 in the first innings.

The squad also includes a number of talented all-rounders such as Riyan Parag, Ayush Badoni, Suryansh Shedge, and Vipraj Nigam. Following a breakout IPL season with the Punjab Kings, dashing opener Priyansh Arya has also been selected, with Prabhsimran Singh and Abishek Porel serving as wicket-keeper.

Rohit and Virat's absence from the squad means they will directly feature in the ODI series against Australia which is scheduled to start from October 19.
