The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finally announced the Indian squad for the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 which is set to be held in the USA and West Indies. The selection committee held a meeting in Ahmedabad before announcing the squad. Rohit Sharma will be leading the 15-member side in the mega tournament as announced earlier. Hardik Pandya has been named the vice-captain of the side and is making his return with Rishabh Pant.
Pant along with Sanju Samson will be the Men in Blue's wicket-keeping option. Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal will be playing their first-ever ICC tournaments. Both of them have been the consistent performers and would like to showcase their caliber in the mega tournament.

Rohit Sharma (C), Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (WK), Sanju Samson (WK), Hardik Pandya (VC), Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj.
Reserves - Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan.
BCCI snubs big stars
BCCI has snubbed big stars like KL Rahul, Dinesh Karthik, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, and Ruturaj Gaikwad. The board has also not included Shubman Gill and Rinku Singh in the main squad but both of them will be the traveling reserves along with Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan. The board did not even consider Sandeep Sharma, who has been performing astonishingly well in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. However, some big names are also returning to the team. Yuzvendra Chahal, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya will be part of the Indian side.
