United States pacer Ali Khan opened up the big challenge against Virat Kohli while facing India for the upcoming T20 World Cup clash at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York. He said that playing against India would be a great match.
Rohit Sharma-led India are coming after winning both of their matches in the marquee event. They recently defeated arch-rivals Pakistan by six runs in last over thriller in New York. On the other hand, the USA have also won all of their matches they defeated Canada in the opener clash and after that, they won a clash against Babar Azam & Co. via super over.
"Well, Virat Kohli has of course, always been one of the favourites and coming up against him and playing against him, it will be really, really good," Ali Khan told Star Sports.
Ali also praised Kohli for his passion on the field and he plays with aggression and that's the reason people call him King Kohli.
"He's very passionate on the field, but so am I. On the field, if things get heated up, then they get heated up. I mean, you play fire with fire. He's right up there. He's, you know, they call him King Kohli for a reason," he added.
However, Kohli is unable to score runs in both the outings for India. He just scored 1 and four runs respectively in his two outings of the World Cup. The 35-year-old was in lethal form in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He ended his IPL 2024 campaign as the highest run-getter of the tournament, scoring 741 runs in 15 matches.
