Winner of this match will face SA in the Final.

Heavy rain and bad weather are being considered as the biggest villains for the clash between the Indian cricket team and England in the second semi-final of the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, on June 27 (Thursday). If bad weather plays spoilsport it can ruin things for the defending champions. Guyana has been covered with clouds and witnessing heavy downpours for the past few days before the high-octane clash between the two huge teams.

As per the ground zero report from Sports Tak, the rain has started again around three hours before the start of the match. The sky is cloudy and gloomy. However, as per the latest reports, they are only light showers for now but rain can be playing spoilsport during the match proceedings. It can be a stop-and-start game with passing showers constantly interrupting the game. The arrival of rain is not the news that the English side was waiting for as it will be constantly throwing their final qualification chances under the bus.

What happens if rain causes washout?

If rain causes a washout like it has in the previous few games, it will ensure India's spot in the Final of this mega tournament right next to South Africa. However, ICC has allotted 250 minutes of extra time to this match but no reserve day. The extra time will allow the ground staff to prepare the ground for a competition if the weather allows to.
