India captain Rohit Sharma finally broke his silence on being removed from captaincy by Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians. In the India T20 World Cup squad press conference held on May 2, Rohit Sharma along with chief selector Ajit Agarkar addressed the media and answered some burning questions regarding the selection of players in the Indian squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

The press conference began with a reporter asking Rohit about captaining India in the World Cup after he had played under a different leader in the IPL. Rohit came up with a straightforward answer and said that he has played under different captains during his career.

The Hitman also affirmed that not everything in life is a given and not everything goes a person's way.

"I was captain. Not being captain and then again captain. It's part of life. Not everything will go your way. It's been a great experience. Before in my life, I was also not captain and played under different captains. It's nothing to me. I have always tried to do what's required as a player and I have tried to do that in the last 1 month," said Rohit.

Rohit is currently playing for Mumbai Indians in the cash-rich tournament under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, who was traded from Gujarat Titans (GT) in a cash deal last year.
