T20 World Cup 2024 final will be the last match for Rahul Dravid as India's head coach.

India head coach Rahul Dravid revealed his experience of training Men in Blue since December 2021. India's legendary batter was announced as Ravi Shastri's successor as the head coach of the senior national team. Under Dravid's guidance, India reached the semi-final of the T20 World Cup in 2022, the final of the World Test Championship in 2023 and the ODI World Cup in 2023.ย

Dravid's coaching tenure will end on June 29, he will coach India for the last time in the final of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 where India take on South Africa at Kensington Oval in Barbados. BCCI shared a video where the head coach shared his fond memories of training the Indian cricket team.ย
ย

โ€œI've really enjoyed myself. I think it's been a great learning experience for me and my family as well. I think everyone's got invested in the Indian team over the last two and a half years. I certainly have, obviously, being here. But so has my family in each and every result that the Indian team has been part of. So it's been really nice for me as well to see how my two young boys have taken to it. The kind of people that I've had the pleasure of working with, my coaching staff, the people who I've worked closely withโ€ said Dravid on a video shared by BCCI.ย

"And then just overall around that, the support staff as well, just the professionalism around it. I think that for me is really the fondest thing. I know there have been results and we've had some really good results in this time, we've had some times where it's not been that easy. And that's part and parcel of being a coach and being a cricket team. But for me, I think the fondest memories that I'll take back is the connections that I've built, the friendships that I've built. That'll last long after I forget and remember some of these good results or bad results" added Dravid.ย

Gautam Gambhir will reportedly take over the role of India's head coach from Dravid after the World Cup but he will join the Indian camp in ahead of Sri Lanka tour. ย India will travel to Zimbabwe before the series against Island Nation. ย VVS Laxman and his support staff at the National Cricket Academy likely to accompany the Indian cricket team in the Zimbabwe series.ย

ย

โ€œThere is a possibility that Laxman along with some of the NCA coaches will travel with the new look squad to Zimbabwe. Laxman and the NCA team has always filled up whenever Rahul Dravid and the first team coaches have been taking periodic breaks during their stint,โ€ a BCCI source told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
