India will take on England in T20 World Cup semifinal on June 27.

Rohit Sharma has dropped a big hint at India's playing XI for the T20 World Cup semifinal against England. Rohit Sharma's India and Jos Buttler's England will cross swords with each other in the high-octane T20 World Cup semifinal on June 27.

Rohit Sharma on India's team combination

On the eve of the big clash between the Men in Blue and defending champions, India skipper was asked about the team combination to which he replied:

“No secret in playing spinners. If it’s necessary we will play 4 spinners. We haven’t seen the pitch properly and assess the right combination".

“We want to be smart and see conditions and play accordingly. Emphasis on how we play - both myself and the team. Not much to discuss. Just give them the role clarity,” he added.

Looks like Rohit will continue with the idea of three spinner, which has paid dividend to the Indian team. For the past few matches, Rohit hasn't tinkered with the India's playing XI and has been playing the same team. The spin department is spearheaded by the troika of Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja. Arshdeep Singh, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah are taking care of the pace department with Shivam Dube available as the fourth option. As far as batting line-up is concerned, Rohit Sharma is sticking with the opening duo of Virat Kohli and him. Rishabh Pant at no.3 followed by Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya look well placed in India's star-studded batting line-up which also has depth in Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja in the lower middle order.

Rain Threat Looms Over High-Stakes India-England Clash

The highly anticipated T20 World Cup semi-final between India and England, scheduled for a 10:00 AM local time start, faces a potential washout due to rain. Accuweather reports a concerning 90% chance of rain, with an additional 21 per cent chance of thunderstorms. While the ICC has a 250-minute buffer for a full 20-over-per-inning match, the possibility of a complete abandonment remains high.

India Prepared to Adapt

During the press conference, Rohit expressed his hope for a full game. However, he acknowledged the need to be adaptable. Should rain shorten the match, they are prepared to adjust their playing strategy and potentially alter the team composition.

"We want to think it will be a full game but if it doesn’t rain we will change what we need to. We will do our best to win the game. It has happened before (shorter games). These things happen and we will see what the scenario is," he said.
