Rohit Sharma's Indian cricket team will be going one-on-one against Mitchell Marsh-led Australia in match 51 of the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 which will be played at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St Lucia, on June 24 (Monday). This is an extremely crucial game for the Aussies side as their spot in the semi-final is on the line. Their loss against Afghanistan has put them in a position from where they can be eliminated from this mega tournament. However, this is not the only concern for the Australian side as their eyes will also be up on the sky, watching out for the rain.
St Lucia weather forecast
The St Lucia weather forecast predicts heavy downpours and thunderstorms. The precipitation chances will go up to 90 to 100 per cent, so it will most likely be playing spoilsport. A couple of games were also washed out earlier due to rain as well. Hopefully, this won't be the sight during today's game and the match can proceed without too many interruptions. If rain causes a washout both teams will have to share a point.

Australia's qualification scenario if rain causes washout
The IND vs AUS clash is under a rain threat and if it leads to a potential washout then it can cause trouble for the Australian cricket team. Currently, India is on top of Group 1 with four points in two matches and after them are Australia with 2 points in 2 matches. If rain abandons the match, the Indian team will have 5 points and they will automatically qualify for the semi-finals. However, things will only get hard for the Australian side as they will only end up with three points.
This will give Afghanistan a clean opportunity to seal the semi-final spot. If the IND vs AUS clash gets washed out then Afghanistan would only have to beat Bangladesh to qualify into the knockout stage of the mega tournament.
