The much-anticipated final of the T20 World Cup 2024 is happening today, Saturday, June 29th. The match is being played between India and South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. This is a historic occasion as both teams have reached the finals without a single defeat throughout the tournament.

India is looking to clinch their first ICC trophy in over a decade, while South Africa is aiming for their first T20 World Cup title ever. India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first. The team opted to go with the same playing XI that has brought them success so far. Openers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli strode out to the crease, with Kohli starting aggressively by unleashing a barrage of boundaries on Marco Jansen's first over.

Despite a recent slump in form throughout the tournament, Virat Kohli came out firing in the final. Facing Marco Jansen in the very first over, Kohli unleashed his power, smashing two boundaries in quick succession. He wasn't done there, though. He capped off the over with another four, bringing his total to an impressive 14 runs off just five deliveries. This aggressive start sent a strong message and gave India a much-needed boost early on in the crucial final match.

However, India suffered jitters on the other end after Keshav Maharaj hunted down Rohit Sharma (9 off 5) and Rishabh Pant (0) in the second over.
Kohli continued to steer India despite losing wickets.  Kohli boasts a good track record in the T20 World Cup and has always delivered on the big occasions. Kohli found an ally in Axar Patel and weaved a 72-run partnership together to steady India's boat. Axar, however, crashed after playing a crucial knock of 31-ball 47 to take India to 106/4 after 13.3 overs.
