Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan's tryst with the on-field umpires continued on November 06 (Sunday) after the left-handed batter was subjected to a controversial dismissal in a do-or-die T20 World Cup match against Pakistan. The incident occurred on the fifth ball of the 11th bowler bowled by leg-spinner Shadab Khan. Shakib, who was facing his first ball, danced down the track and tried to flick the ball towards the leg side. The ball went past the bat and struck Shakib's pad.
The on-field umpire raised his finger after much deliberation and the Bangladesh captain went for the review straight away. He was even spotted telling Pakistan players that he hit the bat before being struck on the pad. In the replay, there was a clear spike when the ball went past Shakib's bat and there seem to be a slight gap between the bat and the pitch.

The third umpire said that the bat was brushing the pitch and hence the spike on the ultra-edge. The hawkeye showed three reds and Shakib had to take the long and painful walk back to the pavilion. The Bangladesh captain clearly didn't want to leave the ground and argued with the on-field umpire.
Dejected Shakib then left the ground after being dismissed for a golden duck. At the time of the 35-year-old's dismissal, Bangladesh's score was 73/3 in 10.5 overs.
