Virat Kohli finished a dream 2022 T20 World Cup with 296 runs under his belt. But the star India batter will surely be unhappy about the same, having been unable to guide his team to the final of the marquee event after India suffered a debilitating 10-wicket loss to England in the second semifinal of the tournament in Sydney on Thursday, October 10.
After the match, Kohli shared an emotional tribute to the team, his teammates, and the fans, but was optimistic about the future, he said in his Tweet, "We leave Australian shores short of achieving our dream and with disappointment in our hearts but we can take back a lot of memorable moments as a group and aim to get better from here on."
"Thank you to all our fans who turned up in huge numbers throughout to support us in the stadiums. Always feel proud to wear this jersey and represent our country 🇮🇳💙," Kohli added.

Kohli scored 50 off 35 balls and set up a partnership with Hardik Pandya to post a total of 168 runs but his efforts went in vain as the English openers Jos Buttler and Alex Hales chased down the target in just 16 overs!
