Cricketing fraternity lavished praise on Harmanpreet Kaur-led India as they defeated Australia in the semifinal clash of the Women's ODI World Cup 2025 at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Jemimah Rodrigues played the inning of her life, and the skipper Harmanpreet Kaur blasted a run-a-ball 89 as India defeated Australia by five wickets to seal their berth for the title decider. Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag lauded India's performance, saying India’s women “turned a semi-final into a dhamaka,” while Rishabh Pant called it “a match full of heart, fight and belief.” AB de Villiers described it as “an incredible chase to knock out the Aussies.”

Sachin Tendulkar for India's win
Cricketing god Sachin Tendulkar also took his X to lavish praise on Team India, the legendary batter specially mentioned Jamimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur, Shree Charani and Deepti Sharma for their historic run-chase against Australia.
"Fabulous victory! Well done @JemiRodrigues and @ImHarmanpreet for leading from the front. Shree Charani and @Deepti_Sharma06, you kept the game alive with the ball. Keep the tricolour flying high" posted Tendulkar.
 
Rishabh Pant on Harmanpreet Kaur-led India
Rodrigues played an unbeaten 127 off 134 balls (14x4), while Harmanpreet’s 88-ball 89 (10x4, 2x6) stitched a 167-run stand to rescue India from 47 for 2 after early blows to Shafali Verma (10) and Smriti Mandhana (24). Kim Garth’s fiery spell (2-29) had put Australia in control before Jemimah and Harmanpreet rebuilt the innings

AB de Villiers for India's win
Former South Africa cricketer AB de Villiers, who also holds a soft corner for India and even admitted to Sports Tak that he is also an Indian also praised the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side for their win.
