Pakistan's embarrassing Women's World Cup 2025 campaign concluded after their final league match against Sri Lanka was washed out due to rain at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on October 24. The Fatima Sana-led side couldn't win a single match in the entire tournament and are reeling at seventh position in the points table with three points after three washed out matches and a net run rate of -0.58. All of these points were gained from abandoned matches against Sri Lanka, Australia, and England. Not just this, there is a chance that Pakistan end up finishing at the bottom of the table if Bangladesh manage to get the better of India in their final match on October 26.

The start of the match was significantly delayed, with the toss being postponed for more than three hours. During this period, the ground staff worked frantically with the covers amidst strong winds and repeated pitch inspections, none of which managed to convince the umpires that play was possible. All of this unfolded while rain of varying intensity continued to fall.
Colombo Weather ruins another Women's World Cup 2025 match
Despite the persistent efforts and hope for a break in the showers, the relentless rain meant the players who had remained on the field could not take to the pitch. Ultimately, the continuous downpour forced the officials to call off the match around 8:10 p.m. local time.
For the washed-out fixture, which was inconsequential to the final knockout stages, both teams made changes. Sri Lanka brought in Dewmi Vihanga for Udeshika Prabodhani, while Pakistan included Syeda Aroob Shah and Eyman Fatima, replacing Sidra Nawaz and Fatima Sana, respectively.
Pakistan's final Women’s World Cup match against Sri Lanka was significantly impacted by the weather. The game, which was delayed by an initial rain spell, was eventually reduced by officials to a 34-over contest per side.
After Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first, Pakistan got off to a steady start with openers Omaima Sohail and Muneeba Ali. Omaima struck a boundary off Sugandika Kumari through point and covers, but with the score at 18 for no loss in 4.2 overs, the rain returned. Although play briefly resumed, another heavy downpour followed, forcing the umpires to call off the match at 8:06 PM local time, resulting in an abandonment. Sri Lanka concluded their World Cup campaign with a total of five points and a net run rate of -1.035.
