India's batting maestro Virat Kohli has yet again hit a rough patch with the all-important Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia around the corner. His recent performance in the Test series against New Zealand, where he scored a mere 93 runs across three matches, was far from his usual standards. At one point, Kohli seemed poised to surpass Sachin Tendulkar's record of 51 Test centuries. However, he hasn't scored a Test century since 2023, leaving him stranded at 29. Amidst these struggles, an astrologer has now ventured to predict whether Kohli will ultimately break Sachin's long-standing record. In total, Kohli has cracked 80 centuries across formats so far.
Astrologer makes big prediction on chances of Virat Kohli breaking Sachin Tendulkar's record of most centuries
Astrologer Greenstone Lobo, in a recent interaction on StarPlay's Cricket & Astrology, offered a positive outlook on Virat Kohli's future. Lobo believes that one of Kohli's best phases is yet to come. However, he predicted that breaking Sachin Tendulkar's record of most Test centuries might be challenging. Nevertheless, Lobo is confident that Kohli can surpass the records of Sunil Gavaskar and Rahul Dravid.
"One of the best patches of Virat Kohli is yet to come. Does it mean that Kohli is going to beat the record of Sachin Tendulkar? Maybe not. That tally of 49-plus (51) Test centuries is very, very steep. So maybe it would be difficult for him to achieve but then Virat Kohli can definitely go beyond Sunil Gavaskar and even Rahul Dravid,” Lobo said.
Astrologer Greenstone Lobo also highlighted that Virat Kohli isn't overly concerned with numbers. Instead, his primary focus remains on contributing to the Indian cricket team and performing his best for the nation.
"He's not really bothered about the numbers, he's focused on winning and that is exactly what he's going to do for India," the astrologer added.
Following a disappointing performance in the recent Test series against New Zealand, Virat Kohli has slipped out of the top 20 ICC Test rankings for the first time in nearly a decade. This decline can be attributed to his consistent poor form in the format.
Kohli's next challenge will be the upcoming five-match Test series against Australia, which is scheduled to begin on November 22nd. India enters this series after a disheartening 0-3 whitewash against New Zealand and faces immense pressure to deliver a strong performance.
