Former Indian player Harbhajan Singh has suggested that India go with the opening pair they played in Perth, which is Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul. He also said that Rohit Sharma should bat at number 3 during the Adelaide Test. Indian captain missed the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as he was on paternity leave and in his absence, Jasprit Bumrah took over the captaincy and KL Rahul took the remaining opening slot.

Harbhajan Singh on Rohit Sharma

"Team India should open with Rahul and Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma can play at number 3. Shubman Gill will have to wait here. Because Jurel did not score runs, you cannot leave him out and play Gill so low. So he will have to wait now. It is being said that Gill will be played but I believe that give Jurel a chance and keep Gill out for now," said Harbhajan Singh in an exclusive conversation with Sports Tak.

India won the first game of the series because to Rahul's strong batting performance and 201-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal. When Rohit returned to the team, he started against the Prime Minister's XI at number four, with Rahul remaining the opener.

Harbhajan Singh on India's performance in Perth

The former spinner praised the performance of the Indian cricket team in the Perth Test, where they ended Australia's undefeated run in the Optus Stadium. He gave the major credit to Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli for how both of them batted on that tough pitch.

"The Indian team will win this series against Australia. The first match in Perth was very difficult. Big teams lose on the pitch there. India played like Australia. We should give full credit to Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli. The team won because of both of them," Harbhajan added.
