India and Australia are currently featuring in the pink ball Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 which is taking place in Adelaide. During India's bowling on Day 1, a picture went viral on social media claiming that Mohammed Siraj has bowled a record-shattering 181.6 kmph delivery. 

The incident happened when Siraj came to bowl the 24th over and during his last ball the right-arm quick’s final delivery displayed a record-shattering speed

However, Sports Tak found out that it was a technical glitch that showed India's pacer delivered a ball at 181.6 kmph. Here are the pictures that are going viral on social media.

Earlier, After opting to bat, Rohit Sharma-led India managed to score 180 runs in the first innings where last match centurion Yashasvi Jaiswal got out on first delivery and star batter Virat Kohli who scored an unbeaten century got out after scoring just seven runs. India captain Rohit Sharma who sacrificed his batting position to KL Rahul also got dismissed after scoring just three runs. Young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy just managed to score 42 off 54 including three fours and three sixes followed by KL Rahul's 37 off 64 including six fours. Mitchell Starc was the star performer for Australia, picking up six wickets. Australia skipper Pat Cummins and Scott Boland got two wickets each. After getting bundled out on 180, India speedster Jasprit Bumrah get the first breakthrough for the side picking up Usman Khawaja's wicket. Apart from Bumrah no other Indian bowlers managed to get a wicket. After the end of Day 1, Australia were 86/1 trailing by 96 runs.
