India vs Australia third Test match will start from December 14.

India's legendary batter Sunil Gavaskar said that the momentum of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 is with Australia ahead of the upcoming third Test match, which is scheduled to take place in Brisbane Gabba. After winning the first Test match, Team India failed to perform in the pink-ball day/night clash as the hosts registered a dominating 10-wicket win to level the five-Test match series.

Gavaskar explained that the momentum the Indian team got in Perth was lost during the 10-day gap as they lost the second Test match. Pat Cummins-led Australia have shifted the momentum to their side after winning the last Test.

"The momentum that the Indian team got in Perth was lost during the 10-day gap. Now the momentum is with Australia because they have won this Test match. After the Adelaide Test, a few days later, you are playing at The Gabba. So, the momentum is now with the Australian team," Sunil Gavaskar was quoted in a release from Star Sports as saying.

Coming back to the second Test match, After being asked to bowl, Australia bundled out India on just 180 runs where Mitchell Starc was the standout performer picking six wickets concerning just 48 runs. Last match centurion Yashasvi Jaiswal got out on the first ball. Apart from the left-handed batter, Virat Kohli who smashed an unbeaten ton in the first Test match also got cheaply dismissed by scoring just seven runs in first innings.

His century took Australia to 337 runs and gave them a 157-run lead.

India's Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj were the pick of the bowlers for the Rohit-led side picking four wickets each. Ravichandran Ashwin and Nitish Kumar Reddy got one each.

While coming to bat in the second innings, India batters again failed to perform against Australia bowlers as the star-studded top-order and middle-order returned back to pavilion despite starts from Jaiswal (24 in 31 balls, with four boundaries), Gill (28 in 30 balls, with three fours) while KL Rahul (7) and Virat Kohli (11 in 21 balls with a four) failed to score well. India ended day two at 128/5.

Skipper Cummins (5/67) took a majestic five-wicket haul, his eighth as a captain. Boland took 3/51 while Starc took 2/60.
