Rohit Sharma-led India are currently preparing for the upcoming pink ball Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The Men in Blue are high on confidence after registering a 295-run dominating win against Australia in Perth. The former India captain Virat Kohli who was going through a lean patch in the longest format of the game has also smashed his 30th Test century during the first Test match.
However, a video of India's batting great Kohli is going viral on the social sphere where he was receiving medical attention for a possible knee niggle has left fans concerned. The clip, which came from India’s training session ahead of the Day-Night Test in Adelaide starting from December 6, showed the team’s medical staff bandaging Kohli’s right knee, hinting at a minor issue.
Kohli will be the vital cog for India in the pink ball Test considering his experience in conditions in Adelaide. With seven centuries Down Under, Kohli now trails only England’s Jack Hobbs for the most centuries in Australia by any batter. Furthermore, he set a record for the most hundreds by an overseas batter against Australia across formats, cementing his legacy as one of cricket’s modern greats.
India head coach Gautam Gambhir who travelled back to India after the Perth Test and joined the Indian squad before the second Test. Apart from Gambhir, India captain Rohit Sharma who was on paternity leave has also joined the squad alongside young batter Shubman Gill who fractured his thumb while fielding in the slips during India's match simulation session at WACA in Perth before the series opener.
The ongoing series is important for India to confirm their berth in the World Test Championship (WTC) final scheduled to take place next year in England.
