KL Rahul is currently fit and most likely to feature in Perth Test.

India wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul who got injured during India's match simulation training on Day 1 has returned to practice. The 32-year-old missed India's training session on Saturday and that raised concern over his availability for the upcoming first Test match against Australia which is scheduled to start from November 22.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video to give an update on KL Rahul's injury. Team India's physio team has declared him fit and he is good to go for the Perth Test.

"After being hit on his elbow on Day 1 of the match simulation, KL Rahul has recovered and is raring to go" BCCI captioned.

Earlier, India's young batter Shubman Gill also got an injury on Day 2 while fielding in slips and he has fractured his thumb and now the batter will miss the first Test match.

If Gill misses out Perth Test, Rahul will likely get promoted to no.3. India already have a few contenders for a spot in the middle-order. Dhruv Jurel may play as a pure batter after his twin half-centuries against Australia A. Jurel hasn't played a Test since star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant returned to the side. He last featured during England tour of India in 2024.
