Ben Stokes needs 5 wickets to become first England captain in 51 years to achieve rare feat

The five-Test series between India and England is scheduled to start on June 20 at Headingley, Leeds. In the home Test series, England captain Ben Stokes is set to script history. 

Ben Stokes needs five more wickets to compete 50 Tests as captain. He will become third England Test captain to achieve the feat. From 33 Tests as captain, Stokes has 45 wickets at an average of 29.95.
 

Ray Illingworth was the first to achieve the feat for England. From 31 Tests, he had 51 wickets as captain. His bowling average was 35.96 as captain. He had one five-wicket haul to his name as well.

The top spot belongs to Bob Willis who has 77 wickets from 18 Tests as England captain. Willis' bowling average is 21.59. He has claimed three fifers as captain as well.

Ben Stokes also needs 254 more runs to complete 2,000 Test runs as captain. When Stokes completes 2,000 runs and 50 wickets as Test captain, he will become the first from England to do so. 
 

Ben Stokes will be chasing another milestone. He needs 272 runs to complete 7,000 Test runs. The all-rounder will become the 13th England to achieve the feat in the longest format.
 

Ben Stokes has a good record against India. From 21 Tests, he has 972 runs at an average of 46.70, including a century and five fifties. With the ball, he has 40 wickets at an average of 31.17, including three five-wicket hauls.
