India defeeated England by six runs in fifth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy

India completed a stunning 6-run victory against England in the fifth and final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. The Men in Blue took four wickets in the space of just 30 runs as the hosts capitulated under pressure and got bundled out for 367 while chasing the target of 374.

Siraj was India's top performer in 5th Test

The star of the show for India was none other than Mohammed Siraj, who finished with figures of 5/104 and took the highly important wickets of Jamie Smith, Jamie Overton and Gus Atkinson on Day 5. The 31-year-old became India's hero in absence of Jasprit Bumrah and carried the visitors to a thrilling victory that will be remembered for years to come by Indian fans. 

Following the conclusion of the match, Siraj revealed India's bowling strategy for the penultimate day of the match. The pacer stated that his aim was to only bowl at good areas whether he was able to pick up wickets or not. He further stated that he always believed in himself and that is what led him to pick up the wickets for the team.

"My only plan was to bowl good areas. Didn't matter if I took wickets or went for runs. (Thoughts after Brook drop) I didn't think I'd touch the cushion when I took it. It was a match-changing moment. Brook got into T20 moment. We were behind the game after that but thank god. I always believe that I can win the game from any point, and did to the morning," Siraj told Dinesh Karthik after the match, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

This incredible five-wicket haul saw Siraj finish the series as the highest-wicket taker with 23 scalps under his belt. Behind him, Josh Tongue finished second with 19 wickets and Ben Stokes finished third with 17 scalps. Siraj stepped up big time as India's frontline pacer in the absence of Bumrah in both the fifth and second Test of the England series.
