India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant scripted history in the Headingley Test against England by scoring centuries in both the innings of the match. The 27-year-old became the first wicketkeeper-batter from India to achieve the feat and only the seventh player from the country to reach the rare milestone. However, despite his valiant efforts with the bat, the Men in Blue recorded a five-wicket defeat against the Three Lions as the hosts took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
Following this sensational performance, Pant gained a place on the Test batter rankings and ended up on the seventh position with 801 rating points. This is the highest position he has ever reached on the rankings so it is nothing short of a massive achievement for him.
