It all happened in the 35th over on Day 4 of the India vs England fifth Test

Star pacer Mohammed Siraj has given his blood, sweat, dedication and what not to bail India out of precarious position again and again throughout the Test series against England. Siraj has been the key bowler for India in the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy, leading the series with 20 wickets. He made a crucial breakthrough on Day 3 of the fifth Test by dismissing Zak Crawley on the final ball. He followed that up on Day 4 by taking the big wicket of Ollie Pope in the morning session, which, along with Prasidh Krishna's dismissal of Ben Duckett, put India in a commanding position.

But he committed a fielding blunder which proved India costly and Harry Brook a lifeline on Day 4 of the fifth and final Test. Harry Brook came out with an aggressive approach that shifted the momentum of the game. After Pope was dismissed with England's score at 106, Brook launched a brutal attack, leaving the Indian team reeling. He accelerated his scoring in the 34th over with 11 runs off Akash Deep, and then hit 16 runs in the next over against Prasidh Krishna. Brook's dangerous form meant India needed to get him out quickly. They had a golden opportunity in the 35th over, but Siraj, who has been the hero of the series, missed a chance. He caught Brook but stepped on the ropes, giving the batter a lifeline and a six runs. Then Siraj ran to Krishna and apologised to him for the midjudgement.

India started Day 4 as heavy favorites, and their chances of winning looked even better after taking two early wickets. However, the partnership between Joe Root and Harry Brook has brought England right back into the game. The pair has added 58 runs from just 63 balls, taking England to 164-3 by lunch on Day 4. England still require 210 runs to win, but they have a deep batting lineup with quality players yet to come. The hosts will feel they have an excellent chance of victory if Root and Brook can continue their partnership for another session. To regain control of the match, India will need a moment of magic early in the second session to break this crucial stand.
