How did Bumrah trap Brook?
Deploying a clever cutter, Bumrah extracted just enough extra bounce to catch Harry Brook completely off guard. The formidable England captain attempted a defensive stroke with a loose grip, but the unexpected lift prevented him from finding the middle of the bat. Instead, the ball spliced off the shoulder, sending a simple chance looping toward the slip cordon.
Stationed perfectly in the slips, the experienced Rohit Sharma made no mistake, securing a comfortable catch to send the English skipper packing. Thanks to Bumrah's tactical brilliance and Sharma's safe hands, the dangerous Brook was forced to make the long walk back to the dugout, dismissed for just a single run off three deliveries in the opening ODI at Edgbaston.
Furthermore, the match highlighted Bumrah's incredible efficiency and strike rate in white-ball cricket. By reaching the 150-wicket landmark in a mere 90 matches, he cemented his legacy as the second-fastest Indian pace bowler to achieve the feat.
