Jasprit Bumrah broke Ashish Nehra’s 19-year-old record to register best bowling figures by an Indian against England in ODIs. Bumrah took six wickets for 19 runs in his 7.2 overs in 2003 World Cup, Nehra took six wickets for 23 runs. However, the left pacer arm got these wickets in Durban, South Africa.

Bumrah bowled exceptionally at Kennington Oval, London to bundled out England for 110, their lowest ODI total against India. While India missed out on a chance to get England out for their lowest total, this is the least number of overs (25.2) England faced to get all out in the format.

Bumrah rushed through England's top order with the new ball taking the wickets of opener Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow and former skipper Joe Root in his first three overs. In his first spell, he made Liam Livingstone his fourth victim with a ball that swung 3.2 degree.

Later, he returned to the attack to break the ninth-wicket partnership and got the wicket of Brydon Carse who had put on 35 runs for the ninth wicket. He wrapped up the proceedings as well with the wicket of David Willey.

Overall, this is the third-best bowling figures for India in ODIs after Stuart Binny (6/4) and Anil Kumble (6/12). Before Bumrah, only Kuldeep Yadav had taken six wickets in England. The Chinaman took 6/25 at Trent Bridge, Nottingham in 2018.

Also, Bumrah's best performance in ODIs is the third-best bowling figures by a touring bowler against England in England. Only Waqar Younis (7/36) and Gary Gilmour (6/14) have better ODI bowling figures than Bumrah in England.
