Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has been a revelation since he made his T20I debut earlier this year. In the absence of an injured Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep opened the bowling alongside Bhuvneshwar Kumar in T20 World Cup 2022 and impressed many. In a short time, he has become a mainstay in Indian bowling lineup and is adding more ammunition to his arsenal with the help of senior bowlers.

Having said that, the left-arm pacer has also had to deal with a ton of unnecessary criticism. The 23-year-old was subjected to severe criticism following the dropped catch in a Super 4 game of Asia Cup earlier in the year and some even went to the extent of calling him a ‘Khalistani’.

Ahead of the 3rd ODI against New Zealand, the young Indian pacer was quizzed about social media trolling and being subjected to criticism by fans and here's what he had to say:

"People love us and our game a lot. So when we perform our best, people love us and when we don’t perform, people show their disappointment. So there is nothing like dealing with this. They express their emotions because we play for India and it’s the fans’ right to express their love or anger. We should accept both," Arshdeep said at the press conference.

The Punjab Kings pacer also delved into what was it like to share the new ball with Umran Malik in the first game of the series and the left-arm quick was all praise for the Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer.

"It’s an edge for me to play with Umran. He bowls 155 kmph and makes things easy for me. We are loving our partnership on the field and off the field as well. Hope it continues for a long," he said.

The Men in Blue trail in the three-match ODI series having lost the opening game by seven wickets. The second ODI was a No Result (NR) while the third and final fixture is slated to be played on November 30 (Wednesday).
